Back in the days when MMA was only a blood sport, Wanerlei Silva already actively competed, eventually ending in the legedary PRIDE organization and in the biggest Mixed Martial promotion UFC. Today through a youtube video, "The Axe Murderer" expressed his love for MMA, his fans and sadly announced his retirent from the fight sport. He also claimed that managers and the UFC is not respecting the fighters, giving athletes only small amounts of money and so on.

In the headliner of UFC Japan Mark Hunt knocked out Roy Nelson and thereby became the second man to ever have KO'd "Big Country", and first one in the UFC. Nelson tried to take the fight to the ground, but all except one attempt was stopped by Hunt. "Super Samoan" landed good, fast punches and some kicks while the American also landed some back including a hard low-kick after which Hunt even spinned around. In the second round the New Zealander continued with hooks and uppercut punches - one which sent Nelson to the canvas.

UFC Fight Night 52 took place at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Melvin Manhoef in his debut at Bellator 125 needed under two minutes to knock out Doug Marshall. At the start of the fight Manhoef in his own fashion is actively working in the cage throwing explosive combinations. Marshall looks to me not confident, but he still goes forward with nice combinations forcing the Dutch to back off. However, "No Mercy" throws a right hand which connects and "The Rhino" falls to the ground. Manhoef wins at 1:45 of the opening round, and is now next in line for the title fight. In the co-main event Brian Rogers and Rafael Carvalho are fighting at the center of the cage. The opponents exchanges strikes, Rogers is punching a series of hooks and taking the Brazilian down, he gets up, clinching breaking off, Rogers wants to fight at a distance. Then the Brazilian lands a knee, goes forward and lands more strikes. The American is now at the fence, Carvalho explodes tags Rogers and he almost falls, the Brazilian continues to punch and the referee stops the beating with two minuts left.

Bellator 125 will be held at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
